John Scalzi is an American science fiction writer and blogger. He is the author of several novels, including the Old Man’s War series, and has won the Hugo Award for Best Novel. He has also been a finalist for the Nebula and Locus awards.
Scalzi was born in Ohio and raised in southern California. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University in 1989. After graduation, he worked as a reporter and editor for The Fresno Bee newspaper. He began writing science fiction in the early 1990s, and published his first novel, Old Man’s War, in 2005.
