There is no particular series of work that will be written for this class. However, over the course of the semester, students will be asked to write a number of short papers (2-3 pages in length) on various topics related to the material covered in class. These papers will allow students to demonstrate their understanding of the material and to develop their analytical and writing skills. In addition, students will be asked to give an oral presentation on one of the papers they write during the semester.

A Great Reckoning is the third book in the Inspector Gamache series by Louise Penny. In this installment, Gamache and his team are investigating a series of murders that seem to be connected to a mysterious book. The book, which is full of secrets and symbols, leads the investigators to a small town in the Quebec countryside. There, they must uncover the killer’s identity before more people are killed.
