Anathem

The Anathem is a science fiction novel by Neal Stephenson, published in 2008. It tells the story of a group of monks who live in a monastery where they spend their days studying and contemplating the nature of reality. When a group of scientists come to the monastery to study a strange phenomena, the monks must decide whether to help the scientists or stay hidden away from the world.
