The Caliban’s War is a novel by James S. A. Corey, the pen name of collaborators Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck. It is the second book in The Expanse series. The novel was published on June 26, 2012 by Orbit Books.

The book continues the story of the crew of the Rocinante as they deal with the fallout of the protomolecule virus unleashed at the end of the previous book. As the solar system descends into all-out war, the crew of the Rocinante finds themselves in the middle of it all, fighting for the survival of humanity.

He is recruited by Fred Johnson, the leader of the OPA, to investigate the attacks on the Canterbury and the Scopuli.
