Endless Night

Agatha Christie was a prolific English writer best known for her detective novels and short stories. Her career spanned over six decades and she wrote over 66 detective novels, making her one of the most successful mystery writers of all time. Christie also wrote 14 short story collections, as well as several plays, romances, and non-fiction books.

Born in 1890, Christie began writing fiction in her early twenties. Her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, was published in 1920 and introduced her most famous character, detective Hercule Poirot. Christie’s second novel, The Murder on the Links, was published the following year.

Over the next few decades, Christie wrote dozens of novels and short stories featuring Poirot, Miss Marple, and other iconic characters. In 1930, she wrote the influential mystery novel The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, which established her as one of the most important mystery writers of her generation.
