Furies of Calderon

Jim Butcher is an American author best known for his contemporary fantasy book series The Dresden Files. He has also written the Codex Alera series, and the Cinder Spires series.

Butcher’s first published novel was Storm Front, the first book in The Dresden Files, in 2000. The series follows the adventures of professional wizard and private investigator Harry Dresden, and has been adapted for television, graphic novels, and video games. The Dresden Files has sold more than 10 million copies, and was the basis for the 2007–2008 TV series of the same name.

The Codex Alera series, Butcher’s second series, is set in a world where people can harness the power of the elements, and follows the story of young Tavi of Calderon as he struggles to defend his home against the invading forces of the Marat. The series has sold more than 2 million copies.

The Cinder Spires series is Butcher’s third series, and is set in a world of steampunk and magic. The first book in the series, The Aeronaut’s Windlass, was published in 2015.
