Soon she falls in love with the owner of the house, the dark and mysterious Mr. Rochester.

But their happiness is short-lived as Rochester is already married. Heartbroken, Jane decides to leave and start a new life. But she is soon faced with another challenge as Rochester’s mad wife escapes from the attic and sets fire to Thornfield. Rochester loses his eyesight in the fire and is forced to leave.
