Martin Dugard is an American journalist and author. He has written for many publications, including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Wall Street Journal. He is best known for his work with Bill O’Reilly on the non-fiction book Killing Lincoln, and for his other true crime books.

Dugard was born in 1965 and raised in Southern California. He attended the University of California, Irvine, where he earned a degree in English. He began his career as a reporter for The Times-Herald in San Bernardino, California. He later worked as a staff writer for The Orange County Register and The Los Angeles Times. In 2001, he co-wrote Outrage: The Five Reasons Why O.J. Simpson Got Away with Murder, with Vincent Bugliosi. The book was a New York Times bestseller.

In 2011, Dugard collaborated with O’Reilly on Killing Lincoln, a book about the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. The book was a bestseller, and was adapted into a television movie. Dugard has also written several other true crime books, including The Kidnapping of JFK Jr. and Into the Water.
