Chanel Cleeton is a contemporary romance author and former attorney. Her debut novel, Next Year in Havana, was a Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Amazon Charts bestseller. Her follow-up novel, When We Left Cuba, was a New York Times, USA Today, and Washington Post bestseller. She has also written a young adult series as Chanel Bennett.

Cleeton was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and raised in the Lowcountry. She earned her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. After law school, she worked as an attorney in Washington, D.C. before moving to London to pursue her writing career.
