Normal People

Aoife McMahon is a character in the novel Normal People by Sally Rooney. She is a student at Trinity College Dublin.

The story is set in Dublin, Ireland and follows the lives of Marianne and Connell, two high school students from very different backgrounds. Marianne is a wealthy, popular girl, while Connell is a working-class student who is often ridiculed by his classmates. Despite their differences, the two form a close bond and begin a secret relationship.

As they move through their final year of high school and into college, they must grapple with the challenges of their different social statuses, as well as the pressure of their families and friends. Marianne and Connell’s relationship is tested by these external forces, as well as their own personal insecurities and fears.

Normal People is a tender and honest portrayal of young love, and the difficulties of navigating a relationship while trying to figure out who you are and what you want in life.
