He graduated summa cum laude in history and literature in 1974.

I am currently working on a series of articles that explore the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality in popular culture. In particular, I am interested in how these categories are used to construct and maintain hierarchies of power. I hope to use my work to complicate dominant narratives about race, gender, and sexuality, and to highlight the voices and experiences of people who are often marginalized.
