Terry Goodkind is an American author who wrote the best-selling epic fantasy series The Sword of Truth. Goodkind was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy. After college, Goodkind worked as a cabinet maker, a photographer, and a carpenter before beginning to write novels.
