Sophie Hannah is a British crime writer and psychotherapist. She has published fifteen psychological thrillers, which have been translated into over thirty languages and sold over fifteen million copies worldwide. She is best known for writing The Monogram Murders, a 2014 Hercule Poirot novel authorized by the Agatha Christie estate.

In addition to her writing career, Hannah is also a qualified psychotherapist and has taught psychology at the University of Cambridge. She has spoken publicly about her own experience with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and has been an outspoken advocate for better understanding and treatment of mental illness.

Hannah was born in 1971 in Manchester, England. She studied English Literature at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford and later received a PhD in Medieval English Literature from the University of Sheffield. She lives in Cambridge with her husband and two children.
