The Murder on the Links is a novel by Agatha Christie, first published in the UK by The Bodley Head in May 1923 and in the US by Dodd, Mead and Company later in the same year. The novel features Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings, and is set in France.

The novel opens with a letter from Poirot to Hastings, asking him to come to France as he is investigating the murder of a man named Paul Renauld. When Hastings arrives, he finds that Poirot has been hired by Renauld’s wife, Madame Daubreuil, to investigate her husband’s death.

There is nothing particularly special about the characters in The Murder on the Links. However, it should be noted that this is one of the earliest examples of a mystery novel in which the victim is not known to the reader until the very end. This device would become increasingly popular in the genre as it allowed for greater suspense.

“I was greatly struck by his appearance and bearing. Tall, well-formed, and athletic, he moved with the silent step of a panther. His dark, expressive eyes and the strong lines of his jaws told of a man who was capable of an intense feeling and of a resolute purpose. His face was clean-shaven, and his long, curly hair, black as the raven, clustered thickly round his neck and fell over his collar behind. He was evidently a foreigner, and from his close cut hair, his large moustache, and the general style of his dress, I took him to be a Frenchman.”

The Edward James Beesley of the The Adventure of the Dancing Men (client, inspiration…)

“His appearance was singular, and yet I have seen him, or a likeness of him, somewhere. He is a man of twenty-five, small, active, quick in his movements, no hair on his face, though he wore a moustache when I saw him last. His general get-up was half naval, half athletic, a cloth cap, a cloth jacket trimmed with brass buttons, white linen trousers, and canvas shoes, no socks. He had nothing of the sailor

Edward James Beesley is a good listener and a great consultant. He has great ability to make his clients feel comfortable and relaxed. He really takes the time to understand your needs and concerns. He also provides excellent advice and guidance. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great consultant.

The Murder on the Links was one of the most popular books of its time, and is still considered to be one of the best detective stories ever written. It was also one of the first books to feature the now-famous detective, Hercule Poirot.
