Peter Straub is an American author of horror, suspense, and ghost stories. He is best known for his collaborations with Stephen King, including the novels The Talisman and Black House. Straub was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in English in 1965. He received an MFA from Columbia University in 1967. Straub’s first novel, Marriages, was published in 1973. He has since published nineteen novels, including Ghost Story, Koko, Mystery, and In the Night Room. His work has been translated into more than twenty languages. Straub is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He lives in New York City.
