Auel was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1936. She began writing The Clan of the Cave Bear in the 1970s, after she became interested in the field of archaeology. The novel was published in 1980 and was an instant bestseller. Auel has since published five more novels in the Earth’s Children series, as well as a prequel, The Land of Painted Caves.

Auel’s novels are known for their detailed and realistic portrayal of prehistoric life. In addition to her writing, Auel is also an active environmentalist and supporter of Native American rights.

The series of work that I will be writing is called “The Chronicles of Narnia”. This series will follow the adventures of the four Pevensie children; Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter. They will enter the magical world of Narnia through a wardrobe and help the lion, Aslan, save Narnia from the evil White Witch. Along the way, they will make new friends and face challenges that they never could have imagined.

The first book in the Earth’s Children series, The Valley of Horses, introduces the reader to the main character, Ayla. Orphaned and alone in the world, Ayla is taken in by a group of Neanderthals. She learns their ways and eventually becomes a respected member of the clan. The Valley of Horses is a story of survival, love, and friendship.
