There There

Tommy Orange is a native of Oakland, California, and a graduate of the MFA program at the Institute of American Indian Arts. He is a 2014 Lannan Literary Fellow, and his novel There There was a finalist for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, the National Book Critics Circle John Leonard Prize, and the PEN/Hemingway Award.

The There There was written in response to the lack of Native American voices in the literary world.
